If you like the outdoors, Utah has several National Parks which are a must to see. Explore Utah:

Park City is the place for everyone (a little cooler than Salt Lake). About 30 minutes from downtown Salt Lake, Park City offers beautiful mountains, Park City Main Street, Alpine Rides, mountain biking, concerts.

Downtown Salt Lake has historic Temple Square, Mormon Tabernacle Choir Thursday night rehearsal or Sunday morning “Music and the Spoken Word,” Family History Library (for those who may want to find their roots), Museums such as the Utah State Historical Society or the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the Hilton – from average to pricy, from American cuisine to ethnic cuisine (Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Asian, Italian, etc.)

For those who may not have a car, Salt Lake City has a light rail, above the ground subway service known as TRAX, to get you around the downtown area. The line to/from the airport will open by May 2013.
