Scholarships and Grants

The Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists (CIMA) has scholarship opportunities available for this year’s Joint Meeting with the Northwest Archivists, Inc. in Boise, Idaho on May 17-19, 2017.

Persons meeting the criteria below are encouraged to apply.

The Steve Wood CIMA Meeting Scholarship is a $500.00 scholarship offered once each year. Funds from the Steve Wood Scholarship may be used for conference registration, workshops, conference meals, and travel expenses.

A second travel grant is also available to assist a CIMA member to attend the conference, and may be used in the same way as the Steve Wood scholarship.

Qualifications: For these scholarships an individual must currently:
Be employed in the CIMA region (AZ, UT, NV, ID, WY, NM)
OR
Be enrolled as a student in a program that includes library classes, archival classes, or a related discipline.

To Apply: Submit a current résumé, a 250-word cover letter with a statement of the expected benefits of attending the CIMA meeting, and a letter of reference from a person with knowledge of the applicant’s work or educational program. A description of why an employing institution would not be able to assist with travel funding should also be included.

Deadlines: Applications must be submitted by February 20, 2017.

Further information: Grant and scholarship recipients will be asked to submit a report on their experience following the conference which will be published in the CIMA Newsletter.
