Primary Source Literacy Conference

Registration is now available for Primary Source Literacy: The Art of Engagement, to held on Thursday, October 24th and Friday, October 25th. The conference is co-sponsored by the Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists and the Utah Manuscripts Association, and is open to archivists, librarians, and educators. This two-day conference will include sessions on teaching with primary sources the opportunity to engage in conversation, as well as hosting the Society of American Archivists’ workshop on Teaching With Primary Sources.

The conference will be held at the Utah State Archives and Records Service in downtown Salt Lake City. Conference attendance will be limited to 60 individuals and so if you would like to participate, please register soon.

CIMA Utah Fall Caucus, 2017

The Utah 2017 CIMA Fall Caucus will take place at the Utah State Archives in Salt Lake City on October 27, 2017. This is a FREE event, and we encourage you to pass along the invite to anyone in your institution who might be interested (and not currently a CIMA member). Information, including a tentative agenda, can be found on the online registration form. If you are planning on attending please register using that form ASAP so that we can have an accurate headcount for planning purposes.

CIMA Nevada Fall Caucus 2017

The 2017 Nevada Fall Caucus of the Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists (CIMA) will take place on October 16, 2017, in conjunction with the joint-conference of the Nevada Library Association (NLA) and the Mountain Plains Library Association (MPLA), at the Hard Rock Hotel Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada. The Nevada Fall Caucus is a ½-day event offered as a FREE NLA/MPLA pre-conference activity.

This year’s Nevada Caucus meeting will include a business luncheon and afternoon topic discussions. All interested individuals are welcome.
All CIMA members (as well as NLA and MPLA members) are invited to attend. Please register for this event through the Nevada Library Association’s conference website at: http://nevadalibraries.org/Conference.

Upcoming SAA Workshop in the CIMA Region

October 7, 2016

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is co-sponsoring the SAA workshop Managing Electronic Records in Archives and Special Collections, to be held on November 3rd in Las Vegas, Nevada. The workshop will discuss both the administrative and technical needs to successfully manage archived electronic records. Registration costs are:

SAA Member — $265
Non-SAA member — $325

2015 CIMA Utah/Nevada Joint Caucus

The joint Utah/Nevada Fall Caucus will be held October 16, 2015 at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah from 10:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The meetings will be held in the Zion Room on the fifth floor of the Holland Centennial Commons.

The Utah Fall Caucus will be held October 10, 2014 at the Ben Lomond Hotel in Ogden, Utah from 9:00 a.m. to 4 :00 p.m. The hotel has plenty of free parking and is located at 2501 Washington Blvd. The conference will take place in the Crystal Ballroom which is on M2.

2014 Nevada Fall Caucus

The Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists (CIMA) announces Nevada’s Fall Caucus Meeting. This will be a prime opportunity to network with Nevada’s professional archival community. We have scheduled a day long program, highlighting some of the archival activities within the state, and providing an opportunity to meet Mark Hall Patton and Rebecca Romney, from the History Channel’s “Pawn Stars”. They will be sharing their expertise in their respective fields. We hope you join us.
