The Academy of Certified Archivists (ACA) is making certification testing more affordable by offering a reduced application fee as part of an early bird special.
The ACA established an early bird application period for the exam with a reduced fee of $25. The reduced fee is available to everyone. The new early-bird deadline to sign-up for the reduced application fee is February 15. After February 15, the fee will be the regular rate of $50 until the deadline for certification exam applications on May 15.
In addition, the early bird deadline will lower the threshold for selecting a pick-your-site location to three test participants rather than five. This price reduction will make it easier for many candidates to find an exam site in a more affordable location. Again, after the early bird deadline the required number of test participants will revert to 5.
The next ACA certification exam will be held August 3, 2016 at the predetermined locations of Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Seattle. To learn more about certification, go to http://www.certifiedarchivists.org/get-certified/.
The Academy of Certified Archivists, founded in 1989, is an independent, nonprofit certifying organization of professional archivists.
