The Utah State Archives is seeking a part-time archivist to provide records management services to State agencies. Responsibilities include the identification, description, appraisal, scheduling, and classification of records series and agency records management systems in accordance with State Archives policies; appraisal and evaluation of records for administrative, fiscal, legal, historical, and research values; and assisting agency representatives in technology including guidelines for reformatting public records into microforms and digital formats, assistance to agency records officers and others regarding all aspects of records management, as well as the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA). Also includes creating reference material and maintaining and updating the state general records retention schedule. Necessary skills include ability to effectively interact with state employees assigned records related duties, writing skills, and ability to perform legal and general research. Must be comfortable working with databases, websites, and other electronic records information.
Preference may be given to applicants with a degree in Library and Information Science, Political Science, or History.
