The Cline Library at Northern Arizona University is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and accomplished leader to fill the position of Head, Special Collections and Archives. Reporting to the Dean and University Librarian, the department head will oversee the management of the library’s archival program and plan, provide, and assess services and policies which make a positive impact on student learning and public understanding of the region and its diverse cultures.
The successful candidate will be committed to the educational mission of the university and effectively lead, with a participatory and inclusive style, a current staff of 6.5 FTE, student employees, interns, and volunteers. A highly productive environment of teamwork, respect, collegiality, and integrity is the goal.
The department head will serve as a forward-looking leader, working at the cutting edge of the archival world. He/she will facilitate new initiatives ensuring strong linkage to the strategic directions of the library and university. The Cline Library is a progressive institution. Managing change and risk-taking are expectations.
