After a distinguished career, Susan Whetstone is retiring from the Utah State Historical Society, and (sadly for us) she is stepping down as CIMA president, effective March 2nd, 2009. During her tenure as CIMA president, she has provided solid leadership to our organization, and she leaves a legacy of several initiatives that will serve our group in the years to come. Under her watch, she has supported the further development of grants and scholarships, supported the development of the Journal of Western Archives, recognized the need for further marketing and outreach programs; and she leaves CIMA in strong financial shape. Because of her help, CIMA will continue to be an important organization to archivists in the inter-mountain region for many years to come.
(Susan, we will miss you. Thank you, and Happy Retirement.)
Michael Frazier, CIMA president
