Oregon State University Libraries invites applications for the position of Oregon Multicultural Librarian, a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, tenure track faculty position within the University Archives at the Assistant Professor level.

Responsibilities include:

1. Coordination of the Oregon Multicultural Archives (OMA), including collection development, outreach, processing, and digitization
2. Liaison to the Ethnic Studies Department and the university’s cultural centers
3. Reference and information literacy
4. Supervision of students, volunteers, and interns
5. Committee service in the library, university, and archives associations

John Sillito Celebrates Retirement Today

April 19, 2010

Long-time member and former chair of the Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists, John Sillito is officially retiring today, Monday, April 19th, 2010. John has been an archivist at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah since 1977. A graduate of the University of Utah, he served as the second chairman of CIMA from 1980 through 1983. Through the years, he has hosted a number CIMA events at Weber State University, including the 2006 CIMA Annual Meeting.

His publications include A World We Thought We Knew: Readings in Utah History, published in 1995 by the University of Utah Press.

His dedication, leadership, and vision has inspired his many colleagues in the Inter-Mountain region. His friends at CIMA would like to thank him for his career of exceptional service. We wish him a happy retirement.
