Scholarships and Grants

The Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists (CIMA) has a number of available scholarships for this year’s Western Round-up in Seattle, Washington on April 28th-May 1st, 2010.

Persons meeting the criteria below are encouraged to apply.

The Steve Wood CIMA Meeting Scholarship is a $400.00 scholarship offered once each year. Funds from the Steve Wood Scholarship may be used for conference registration, workshops, conference meals, and travel expenses.

The CIMA Workshop Grants are offered to cover the registration fees for a full-day CIMA workshop at its annual meeting.

The CIMA Travel Grants are worth up to $250.00 each. They are offered to assist individuals with travel funding to the annual meeting.

Qualifications: For any of these scholarships an individual must currently:
Be employed in the CIMA region (AZ, UT, NV, ID, WY, NM)
OR
Be enrolled as a student in a program that includes library classes, archival classes, or a related discipline.

In addition, there are also CIMA Conference Registration Grants available, which cover registration fees for the Western Round-up and associated workshops. To qualify for this grant you must be a current member of CIMA, have have been a member within the last five years.

To Apply: Submit a current résumé, a cover letter indicating a statement of the expected benefits of attending the CIMA meeting, and a letter of reference from a person with knowledge of the applicant’s work or educational program.

Deadlines: Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2010.

Further information: Grant and scholarship recipients will be asked to submit a report on their experience following the conference which will be published in the CIMA Newsletter.
